Annotating Is one of my strengths in not only English but in many other subjects. My most used technique is hi lighting main points and make connections with pen in the margins or directly attached to the sentence. I use this technique for things like the deck transcript or other shooter excerpts. I do not do well annotating any other way. We have tried many different types of annotations this semester and they just make my notes seem unclear and unorganized. I am all about trying new things in order to make me a better student but I was not able to connect with different ways of annotating. I do not believe this I is a growth mindset issue because I have a method that works and I tried different techniques with an open mind. In longer texts like the Boyd chapter annotation I will hi light the important facts directly on the text and in the left margin I will write that “they” ( the author) say and in the write margin I will write what I interpret it as. This works better for longer texts because you can go paragraph by paragraph and hi light main ideas instead of line by line with great detail.
